Gardener's Handbook of Edible Plants
Author(s): Creasy, R.
Year: 1986
Publisher: San Francisco : Sierra Club Books
ISBN: 0871567598
Subject: Edible Plants, Gardening, Landscaping Comments: From Library Journal Creasy's excellent The Complete Book of Edible Landscaping ( LJ 5/1/82) promoted the concept of using food-producing plants as decorative features in a landscape. It contained clear information on landscape design, planning, and maintenance, along with an "Encyclopedia of Edibles" that provided information on a wide variety of plants including some exotic varieties. Each entry in the encyclopedia described the effort required to grow and harvest, gave tips on use in landscape and kitchen, and explained how and where to purchase plants. Her new book duplicates the "Encyclopedia of Edibles" closely. Some new sections on gardening practice are included, but this book can be recommended only for libraries lacking the first one.
