Q. Who is Mr. Smarty Plants?

A: There are those who suspect Wildflower Center volunteers are the culpable and capable culprits. Yet, others think staff members play some, albeit small, role. You can torture us with your plant questions, but we will never reveal the Green Guru's secret identity.

Title: When to plant bluebonnets in Spicewood, TX
Answered by: Jimmy Mills

QUESTION:

When is the best time to plant Bluebonnets and do you place seeds under the soil or just spread on top? Thank you

ANSWER:

The planting time for Bluebonnets in Central Texas is in early October, so you have some time to enjoy this spring’s spectacular crop before you need to be concerned about planting.
I’m including a link to one of our How to Articles; How to grow Bluebonnets. This will give you plenty of information to get you ready for planting your bluebonnet seed in the fall.
