Native Plants
Q. Who is Mr. Smarty Plants?
A: There are those who suspect Wildflower Center volunteers are the culpable and capable culprits. Yet, others think staff members play some, albeit small, role. You can torture us with your plant questions, but we will never reveal the Green Guru's secret identity.
Did you know you can access the Native Plant Information Network with your web-enabled smartphone?
Ask Mr. Smarty Plants is a free service provided by the staff and volunteers at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center.

QUESTION:
Do you know where I could get a copy of the publication, "Native and Adapted Landscape Plants: An Earthwise Guide for Central Texas"? I believe this was a joint effort between the City of Austin and the Texas Cooperative Extension Service. Thank you.ANSWER:
You can pick up a free copy at most Austin plant nurseries. Also, you can download this publication in several small PDF files from the City of Austin Grow Green site. You can also search the guide online by plant name (common or botanical) and by using various plant characteristics.More Seed and Plant Sources Questions
