Habitat: In full sun & half-shade. Alkaline, alluvial slope. Among Poaceae and Brassicaceae. Many large colonies.
Description: Much branched annual, 30 cm tall, from stout taproot. Lower leaves in a basal rosette, sinuate pinnatifid, 8 cm long; upper ones smaller, variable lanceolate to elliptic, petioled. Flowers opening near sunset, white changing to pink. Stigma slightly above anthers. Petals 20+ mm/Hypanthium 16 mm long.
