Abstract
The effect of coyote and raccoon ingestion on seed germination was investigated with seeds of Diospyros virginiana, Prunus americana, Asimina triloba and Celtis occidentalis. Germination was significantly greater following raccoon ingestion only for Diospyrus verginiana compared to uningested seeds, whereas only Celtis occidentalis seed germination was decreased following raccoon ingestion. Coyote ingestion reduced germination of Diospyros virginiana and Prunus americana. Asimina triloba germination was unaffected by coyote ingestion.Suggested Citation
