Abstract
Examines the effects of chestnut blight on sprouting and clone survival of Castanea pumila and C. dentata. In C. pumila sprouts, root collars remain alive almost indefinitely. However, in C. dentata, sprouts generate new root collars. Castanea pumila appears to have more natural resistance to chestnut blight than C. dentata.Suggested Citation
