Abstract
Examines the effects of species identity and species diversity on the invasiveness of Imperata cylindrica (cogon grass) in Florida. Species diverse communities did not decrease the invasiveness of I. cylindrica; however, native species identity did affect the invasiveness of I. cylindrica. Andropogon virginicus was the most effective competitor against Imperata cylindrica of other native sandhill species. The root morphology of A. virginicus was attributed to its ability to compete with I. cylindrica belowground.Suggested Citation
