Abstract
Examines the effects of silvicultural disturbance affects understory vegetation over time in upland pine stands in Fort Benning, GA. Herbaceous species composition varied with stand age and species indicators were identified for different age classes. Andropogon virginicus was an indicator of the 8-10 year age class, Pityopsis sp. and Tridens flavus were indicators of the 15-20 year age class, and Schizachyrium scoparium was an indicator for the 30-80 year age class.Suggested Citation
