Abstract
Studies the effects of heavy metals on growth and ecotypic variation of Andropogon virginicus. Plants of A. virginicus were collected from a mine, from an old-field, and from a control site and grown in a common garden experiment. The mine and control ecotypes exhibited similar growth while the old field ecotype had greater ramet survivorship. These results do not support the hypothesis of ecotypic differentiation in response to heavy-metal contaminated soils.Suggested Citation
