Abstract
Describes the characteristics and contents of caffeoylquinic acid compounds in Ipomoea batatas (sweet potato) and I. pandurata. There were high levels of these compounds in I. pandurata. Results from caffeoylquinic acid compounds activity in bioassays suggest that these compounds contribute to the resistance of root diseases and the allelopathic potential in these related Ipomoea species.Suggested Citation
