Abstract
Evaluates the effects of lichens on emergence of seedlings in Florida scrub habitat. Lichens dominate the ground cover in scrub that is long-unburned. Results indicate that lichens suppress recruitment but only in years that are favorable for recruitment. Drought seems to have an overriding effect in determining recruitment rates.Suggested Citation
