Abstract
Studies the relationship between larvae of the cheater moth, Tegeticula intermedia, and the true pollinator moth, T. yuccasella, in fruits of the host plant Yucca filamentosa in Tennessee. Both moth species lay eggs in the fruit of Y. filamentosa but only the true pollinator moth serves as a pollinator. The cheater moth did not seem to affect the true pollinator moth, although there may have been greater seed costs to Y. filamentosa. Results indicate that the two moth species can coexist.Suggested Citation
