Abstract
Examines the relationship between Yucca filamentosa and its moth pollinator, Tegeticula yuccasella. In addition to pollinating Y. filamentosa, T. yuccasella also lays eggs inside the Y. filamentosa developing fruit. Flowers of Y. filamentosa with high moth egg loads are more likely to abscise. This study suggests that the physical damage to the Y. filamentosa caused by the moth laying eggs serves as a trigger for abscission.Suggested Citation
