Erect and robust, this perennial, grows quickly to 2-1/2 ft. high and 3 ft. wide. Bright-green leaves are two or three times cut into narrow lobes giving a ferny effect. Striking-yellow, daisy-like blooms occur at branch tips. Each flower head is surrounded by deep-green bracts.

Conditions Comments: Sea dahlia reseeds readily. As the flower heads go to seed, the plants tend to look untidy. These mature flower heads can be cut off. This is a wind-tolerant plant which is intolerant of frost.
Propagation
Description: Easily grown from seed planted in fall. Mature plants may be increased by division.Seed Treatment: Seeds of this genus generally germinate without pretreatment.
