Leaf: "Leaves thin, membranous, elliptic, (11-)15-21(-25) cm long, (4-)5-7(-7.5) cm wide, glabrous, apex acute to acuminate, base acute, petioles 6-10 mm long." (bibref:1798).
Flower: "Flowers perfect, glabrous, peduncles 10-17 mm long, hirsute, often recurved, rachis conical and elongated, 3-20 mm long, glabrous, pedicels 1-2 mm long; calyx tube ca. 10 mm long, outer lobes 3.4-3.8 mm long, inner lobes 2.3-2.7 mm long." (bibref:1798).
Fruit: "Fruit red, ellipsoid, 10-13 mm long, ca. 6 mm in diameter." (bibref:1798).

Distribution
USA: HINative Distribution: Endemic to the Hawaiian island of Kauai. Apparently extinct.
Native Habitat: "Known only from a few collections, ca. 330 m, from Waioli, Moloaa, and near Hoolulu valleys, Hanalei District, northern Kauai. Last collected in 1916 and apparently now extinct." (bibref: 1798).
